Commonwealth Foxhounds hosted its 24th Opening Meet on a beautiful, clear, crisp Saturday.  11 1/2 couple of hounds were brought out that day, and the mounted followers and car hilltoppers enjoyed a fun day of hunting over the beautiful Westmoreland countryside.

10/23/04:  Virginia Hunt Week Meet at CFH!

9/5/04:  Warrenton Horse Show

CFH had a FANTASTIC showing at Warrenton, both in terms of horses & riders, and with our hosting of the exhibitors' party! 

Thanks to the creative efforts led by Sandy Hoyer, CFH members provided a lavish spread of delicious food and drinks for our fellow foxhunters.  Featuring Brennan Adams's home-grilled salmon with cranberry sauce, a multitude of hors d'oevres and desserts, a variety of Ingleside's wines, and other assorted drinks, the English-garden-themed party was enjoyed by exhibitors, spectators, and friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. under the tent at the Warrenton Horse Show grounds.  Caught off guard by the unexpected rain that started up right around 6 p.m., attendees of the show sought refuge under the party tent and found a feast waiting for them.  CFH members enjoyed the company of foxhunting friends from Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and beyond, and were pleased to be able to extend our hospitality to them.

Outside of the tent, CFH members were hard at work showing in the field hunter and sidesaddle classes.  Led by Chelsie Liming and Jocelyn McDonald, our team garnered dozens of ribbons and ended up as the high point hunt for the evening!  Thanks to the team's efforts, CFH received a prize of $700, courtesy of Horse Country Saddlery!  This generous donation will be put to good use in providing for our hounds.
